How to Manage Multiple Reseller/Consignment Stores

If you have multiple consignment or reseller store locations, you may want to manage your accounts, items, and payouts by each store location. That’s why we’ve further developed our multi-location feature so that you can have more control in how you manage your different locations.

What Can it Do?

Having the ability to manage consignor accounts, items, and payouts by location has a number of potential benefits for your store’s workflow. First, by organizing your consignors/accounts by location, you can have greater organization of both consignors and inventory; you’ll no longer need to guess which item is in which store. For those with consignor/vendor login (the ability to let consignors add items to the store’s inventory), consignors can be assigned one or more locations. This means that if consignors provide inventory to one or more locations, you can keep track of one consignor’s inventory in multiple locations.

Additionally, when it comes to settling consignor/account balances, this can be done by location. One advantage of this is cash flow—if you would like to settle your consignor accounts at different points in a month, you can do so easily by filtering your consignors by location and paying out one location at a time. This will work even if a consignor has inventory at more than one location.

How it Works

By default, ConsignCloud places your accounts, items, and payout options at all locations. If that is how you want to run your store, then there is no need to change any settings. If you would like to add locations, go to Menu → Settings → Operations → Locations; add your locations here. 

Once you’ve set up your locations, you can now add locations to your consignor accounts (this can also be done using our bulk edit feature). This will make all future items you enter for that consigner default to the location you set. 

Lastly, when in your accounts table, you can filter your consignors by location and then settle accounts by that location. If a consignor has balances at two or more locations, you can settle those balances separately.
