ConsignCloud vs. Ricochet in 2026

Samuel Dickison
Intro
It’s 2026 and even though we don’t have teleportation (that we know of) consignment software has never been better. But more tools means it’s that much tougher to choose the right one. And given that your software affects nearly every critical part of your business, from intake to taxes, there’s a lot riding on the decision.
ConsignCloud and Ricochet are two of the leading solutions. We did a deep dive into each to help you weigh pros and cons and find the right fit for your store. In this article we’ll cover:
A side-by-side comparison
Pricing
Core features (from inventory to integrations)
Customer Support
Cards on the table: we think ConsignCloud is pretty great (we built it after all), but from day one our goal has been to see consignment and resale win as a whole. No matter what software you choose, we’re happy that store owners have more powerful tools in their hands than ever before and thankful for the small business owners who make our industry go.
Let’s dive in.

That’s just the at-a-glance overview, but before we get into the weeds we think it’s worth looking at the companies behind each software tool.
ConsignCloud has been independently owned since we began in 2014. Being independent means we make decisions based on what's best for you, not outside investors. We track every piece of feedback we get and make changes and updates based on what we hear from actual store owners. We’re proud to be a part of the global consignment and resale movement and our mission has always been to help store owners run thriving, profitable stores.
Ricochet, on the other hand, operates under outside investment, which inevitably shapes the decisions a company makes. A recent example: Ricochet just announced they are going to charge users an additional $100/month if they choose not to use "Ricochet Pay," their in-house payment system operated through their parent company. It's worth knowing that context when evaluating the platform.
That said, we want to be clear: Ricochet has served the consignment industry for many years and has genuinely helped a lot of store owners along the way. We want to see consignment and resale win everywhere and we're grateful for what they've done to be a part of that mission. (And a quick note, if anyone from the Ricochet team is reading this and spots a factual error anywhere in this article, please reach out via our chat and let us know.)
With that, let's get into the details.
Pricing
We’ll tackle pricing first; it’s the most objective metric and the one that store owners are often most intrigued (or repulsed) by.
In a world of tiers, fees, seats, and add-ons, both ConsignCloud and Ricochet offer relatively uncomplicated plans. That said, ConsignCloud’s structure is more affordable and provides more flexibility with two tiers:
Base at $139/mo (single location)
Pro at $189/mo per location
Integrations, POS options, and ecommerce features are included without any additional fees. The Pro plan includes more powerful reporting, vendor access, email automations, and more advanced features, but the short version is that under ConsignCloud’s structure, store owners pay a single price and enjoy all the options available at that tier.
Ricochet offers a single (and slightly higher) price at $199/mo per location, and charges additional fees of $49 to $79 for ecommerce options. They do, however, offer several integrations with software like QuickBooks and MailChimp.
Core Features
Inventory Management
Both ConsignCloud and Ricochet offer robust inventory solutions. Gone are the days when store owners need a clipboard, a filing cabinet, and a degree from MIT in logistics.
By way of comparison, ConsignCloud and Ricochet offer very similar features. Both offer easy intake, tracking, pricing control, discounting, and bulk editing. Although each platform also offers label printing, only ConsignCloud allows labels to be completely customized..
Consignor Experience
As the consignment industry has grown, consignors have become their own unique audience segment. Software that caters to them and ensures a good experience means people are more eager to bring their goods and keep your racks well-stocked.
Both ConsignCloud and Ricochet offer consignors the ability to view and submit items, track their balance, and manage their profile. However, each software handles that access differently.
Ricochet consignors must download the Ricochet Go app in order to take advantage of Ricochet’s consignor portal. Everything is handled in the app, including notifications, which is designed solely for mobile use.
Consigncloud offers the same features to consignors but in a browser-based portal. This means users can log in from a phone, tablet, or computer, and can receive notifications from ConsignCloud’s automated email system. And while both softwares handle payouts via ACH, check, and store credit, only ConsignCloud offers the ability to customize payout types to include alternate methods like cash, Venmo, or PayPal.
POS
The point of sale is where the rubber very much meets the road for many businesses. A frictionless experience at the counter keeps your employees’ stress low and your shoppers happy. On the flip side, complications and errors quickly turn what should have been a successful treasure hunt into a DMVesque quagmire.
It’s here that ConsignCloud and Ricochet part ways more distinctly. While both platforms offer similar features at the POS in terms of adding items, applying discounts, and making manual adjustments, Ricochet has moved recently to a proprietary payment system and now encourages all clients to use Ricochet Pay for integrated card processing. Clients who choose a processor other than Ricochet Pay must pay a $100/month fee.
ConsignCloud remains much more flexible. Stores can choose to use Stripe or Gravity Payments for integrated processing or can use a non-integrated payment provider at no extra charge. Stores can also take their pick of the Shopify, Square, or ConsignCloud POS on all plans. Ricochet charges users an add-on fee for similar functionality and we’ve heard from some stores that Ricochet’s Square integration is very limited and doesn’t include a full inventory sync.
Reporting
Equally important to business success, but much less visible, is the question of data. What sells well? What sits neglected for months? Which consignors have good track records and an impeccable knack for bringing in winners?
Both ConsignCloud and Ricochet offer in-depth reports on sales, filterable by brand, consignor, and category. ConsignCloud takes our reporting a step further, providing actionable data shop owners can use for brand audits, strategic discounts, and forecasting.
And of course, both platforms allow users to export data as a CSV. Who doesn’t want to curl up at night with a warm mug of tea and a tidy pile of spreadsheets?
Customer Support
As robots take over the world, customer support has taken on new significance. And while chatbots are becoming increasingly ubiquitous and increasingly impressive, talking to a human often remains the most efficient and least frustrating support experience.
While Ricochet offers a mix of human support and chatbots, ConsignCloud has made a point of maintaining a 100% human support staff. And while we’d be the last to sing our own praises, there are definitely enthusiastic customers out there who appreciate that commitment.
The Bottom Line
We said at the outset that we’re biased, but the reality is that each store is unique; the best software rarely comes down to a single data point or feature. Budget, priorities, existing systems, and experience will all nudge potential customers in one direction or another.
Ricochet’s greatest differentiator lies in their proprietary solutions, preferring to build their own ecosystem rather than open the borders. If done well, a fully in-house platform has the potential to simplify some aspects of running your business.
Of course, ConsignCloud has taken a different tack, building out robust tools and features within our software while giving business owners the freedom and flexibility to choose how they run their store.
But here’s what we know for sure: consignment has never been better. More people are buying, selling, browsing, and opening up small businesses that give second (and third, and fourth) lives to worthwhile goods. We wake up every day excited to be part of that world, and the more people jumping in the better.
