Printing

Once your items are entered, you'll want to get labels on them — this lesson covers just the basics to get you printing your first tags. A full course dedicated entirely to printing is on its way, so think of this as a quick primer.

How printing works

ConsignCloud prints two things you'll use constantly: item labels for inventory and receipts at the point of sale. Printing runs through the ConsignCloud Print Client, a small application you install on the computer connected to your printer. You can get started under Settings → Label Printing → Download Client. Once the Client is installed and your printer is connected, ConsignCloud sends print jobs straight from your browser.

Getting started without any setup

You don't have to install anything to start printing — by default, ConsignCloud creates a PDF for every print job that you can open and print like any web page. If you're not sure what hardware to buy, we generally recommend a Star TSP100 receipt printer and a DYMO LabelWriter 550 for labels — but stay tuned for the full Printing course for a deeper walkthrough of setup, label design, and hardware options.
